About Thomas More

All of my life I’ve been fascinated by writing, by what you can do and how happy it can make you. If you are even slightly interested in writing, I very much recommend that you go do it. It’s 100% worth it.

And here’s the main reason: the characters. While creating a great, readable story is key, for me the most fun is inventing characters that bit by bit become so real it’s like they are alive. Like Sakima, to me, is a real living and breathing person, part of the same world I’m in. (I hope you feel the same way!)

I want to continue to write more and more books, as well as short stories and, eventually screenplays. I have a couple of great ideas for movies and I would love to see one of my screenplays become a movie. But you know what would be even better? My Sakima stories turned into movies. I think they’d be great in terms of action, plot, emotion, and characters. What we all love in the best movies!

And while showing in theaters (ideally IMAX!) would be amazing, streaming TV would be just fine too. Fingers crossed. If you’re a movie agent, contact me! :)

Fun Facts About Me

What I wanted to be when I grew up

A writer! Writing is relaxing, for the most part. While, yes, it can cause worry and anxiety when it’s not working (or you’re not writing), but most of the time it will amaze you and give you joy. At least, that’s what I’ve had in my life.

The author I’d most like to meet

I’d like to meet a few, actually.  Let’s see, okay: Ernest Hemingway, Gabriel García Márquez, George Orwell, Herman Melville, William Faulkner, Jane Austen, Patti Smith, and Mark Twain. For Science Fiction: H.G. Wells, Ray Bradbury, William Gibson, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, Ursula K. Le Guin, Brandon Sanderson, Suzanne Collins, and Michael Crichton.

What I like to do when not writing

Well, there’s always writing and editing and rewriting, but outside of that world of activity I love to play music. I’m a drummer, pianist, guitarist, and even play the harmonica. Recently I’m trying to get into singing, too.

Favorite non-writing hobby

Painting and drawing and model building. All of it fun and satisfying, even if not always all that great! I love to sketch and do cartoon-like drawings, as well as portraits and photo-like paintings of streets and buildings here in New York City.
